3 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas You Can Binge On

With Thanksgiving coming up, there's always a certain panic that strickens the self-hatred in us all: getting fat (if even just temporarily). But more than that, it's one of the few chances we see extended family, new additions and the boyfriend's/girlfriend's clan, so it's always nice to make a good impression for them to take home. Although we're pointing out the importance of not letting gluttony get the best of us, we're still competely and utterly condoning that you eat to your ass's delight. Who cares, this is what the holidays are all about--plus your grandmother would be proud you're finally eating enough! But to soften the blow to your gut, here's a few tips on how to at least look like you're not smuggling a turkey.

1. COVER IT UP: This is an obvi, but there's no better way can your mask a seven-course meal than with cinchless and flowy dresses and bottoms. Pieces that are gathered, pleated, tiered or tastefully bunched in some sort of way (without cinching) gives you tons of breathing room after your third helping of stuffing.

Prada Spring 2011 Campaign By Steven Meisel

When it comes to fashion, it's never too early to start thinking a season ahead. While we're wishing we had the much lauded and ridiculed Chanel fur suit as temperatures drop, take a winter's respite with Prada's sunny, Tim Burton-striped spring 2011 campaign shot by Steven Meisel. Along with Spanish top model Mariacarla Boscono, there's the practically indistinguishable Arizona Muse (she should DEFINITELY start a band), Kinga Razjak, Zuzanna Bijoch and Tati Cotlia.

You Will Get Some From Lykke Li

Lykke Li, the angsty, doe-eyed Swedish songbird is back with her new single "Get Some" off of her sophmore album Wounded Rhymes that is dropping in 2011. While her aptly-named debut album Youth Novels was a bitter-tinged diary of hesistant young love and heartbreak, Wounded sounds like it will foray into the world of woman scorned, taking what she'd learned as emotional prey to become the predator, i.e. rebound album. With heavy tribal jewelry, hot pants and Hedo Rick-approved gyrations in a Pamela Love-come-South Pacific voodoo underground, Lykke Li doesn't get any clearer when she sings, "Don't pull your pants before I go down / Don't turn away this is my time / Like a shotgun needs an outcome / I'm your prostitute, you gon' get some."

TRON: Legacy x threeASFOUR x Opening Ceremony Collabs in Neoprene Heaven

A match made in greenscreen heaven, hipsters-with-money retailer Opening Ceremony launched an exclusive collaboration between the upcoming TRON: Legacy film and spacy designer label threeASFOUR. While there could've been much more creative liberties taken with this collection--especially with threeASFOUR injecting heroic amounts of TRON-esque piping in their gorgeous SS 2011 collection--these designs keep with the general feel of the original film without too much spunk to alienate film fans (sci-fi nerds probably wouldn't wear anything much crazier, 'cept at Comic Con).

United Bamboo 2011 Cat Calendar + Human Versions

United Bamboo has done it again, releasing it's second "Cat Calendar" that features real designs from their collections in kitty-size--it actually looks like quite a nice calendar. I was able to track down the actual pieces they used to style the confused-to-sultry cats. The feline stylists pulled from as far back as 2009. I'm sure the hefty $50 price for a calendar won't be deterring any of the lonely, cubicle-dwelling, cat-loving fashionistas out there.

Daft Punk for Dazed & Confused - Cover Bots Go 3D Classical

Daft Punk ditches the leather suits for 3D tuxedos for the Demember issue of Dazed & Confused. Along with a 3D magnum opus shot by Sharif Hamza, the faceless French duo granted Dazed an exclusive interview whilst in LA regarding the "orchestral" TRON: Legacy soundtrack they've been working on for the past two years. Don't worry, the magazine comes prepped with the old school red and blue 3D glasses. With all of the press behind Daft Punk right now, it's a good bet they will be touring very soon.

Mystery Shoe Obsession: What/Who is it?

LOVE / LUST DIY: Haus of Price Gem Heels x Hannah Marshall Slash Leggings

Here's a special edition of LOVE / LUST for pieces that are just too easy to replicate ourselves for a fraction of a fraction of the price.

Hause of Price - Multi Gem Arch Heel, $239 at Solestruck
DIY: You can buy heels for cheap in your city's fashion district or retailers like Charlotte Russe or Forever 21. Buy some bags of rhinestones and a flexible glue at your local craft store, and schtick 'em on.

Hannah Marshall - Velvet/Oil Power Leggings, $540 at Opening Ceremony
DIY: Get a pair of old tights, leggings or you can buy shiny or velvet ones at a dance store (don't bother with American Apparel, still too expensive), and well, just cut them as such!

Opium Flirt: Anja Rubik for Muse Mag Fall 2010

Fit for a modern-day Bride of Frankenstein Has Breakfast at Tiffany's movie poster, I'm loving how aggressively angular this shoot by photographer Solve Sundsbo feels.

SPOTTED: Frog Sex Sweater by WESC

I had a casual Halloween night some friends downtown and got a little in the spirit by wearing a mask askew above my face like a visor. Waiting for my drink, a guy at the bar pitched me the line, "Never put that mask on, we'd all be missing out on a lot." I nod politely, pay for my beer and head outside to my friends. Just another random dude, right?

The guy later loitered with his buds near our table, seemingly sending bros in one-by-one to try their luck with us. But it wasn't until the pitchman had his back turned that my interest piqued:

A giant portrait of frogs having sex was knitted into the back of it, BAM!

All we could gather was it was made by WESC and I immediately scoured the internetz to find out more. Turns out it is the "Sergei Anniversary" piece they designed for the WESC 10th anniversary in fall 2009, and scant availability is limited to a small online shop in Norway. There's a womens version featuring the same pastoral portrait as well, but it sucks. This sweater is still on trend for this season, knits being even more pronounced for men, and the long, slightly oversized fit looks good on all body types.

But frog sex?? SOLD.
